Redskins Week in Review

I was going to be a smartass and just leave this as a blank post, but there was actually some good stuff online that you may have missed. So here’s some quick recaps and links:

  • Warpath Insiders (Redskins page on the Scout.com network) had a great article on what to expect if free agency begins without a new collective bargaining agreement in place. You’ve heard the tales of the Redskins having to cut everyone and their mom to get under the cap, but it wouldn’t be all that painful. It depends about on a lot of contract restructuring, but the biggest name guys who’d have to be dropped are Patrick Ramsey and Walt Harris, nothing too earth shattering. If you visit Warpath, they also have a stunning writer named Lee Gibbons you should probably check out.
  • Ray Brown was elected to the Arkansas Sports Hall of Fame. He’s going in with John Daly and Gary Anderson, that’s quite the diverse class they’ve picked this year. (Link)
  • Timmy Smith is expected to plead guilty on March 9th to the drug charges he received a few months back. It was a sad story then, and its still sad today. (Link)
  • Some NFL owners, including Daniel Snyder, may sue the league if they are forced into a revenue sharing plan they don’t like. The other owners are viewing this as an idle threat. (Link)
  • After a visit from Gregg Williams, Condi Rice now has a Redskins helmet up in her office. Yeah, its been a slow week. (Link)
  • The Post actually puts up a Redskins article covering the potential cuts. This was covered earlier and much better in the Warpath article.
  • Other Post articles on football: Upshaw tells agents to prepare for no agreement; Combine battle between Leinart & Young; 49ers win coin toss for 6th pick.

I apologize for all the changes made to the look of the site this past week, and especially for the problems it had the the last few days when being viewed on Internet Explorer (thanks to Jonathan for the heads up). This is the final change; I may tweak the color scheme a bit, but no more major changes. Thanks for reading.
