Defense Sucks, Campbell Takes a Step Forward
What can you say about that game? The less the better in my opinion. I’m glad that’s the last we have to see of Tiki Barber. For the majority of his career the Redskins handled him and then for some reason over the past two years he completely destroyed the Skins. His jitterbug running style is perfectly suited to the undisciplined Redskins defense.
But since the Redskins season was long over before this game, the only thing that really mattered was evaluating players. The biggest piece of the puzzle is obviously Jason Campbell. He was his typical inconsistent self in the 1st half and was actually knocked out of the game for a brief period after a questionable hit to the head. But when he returned in the 2nd half, he was better than we’ve seen before. He was on target with passes and moving the team up and down the field with ease. Granted the Giants secondary isn’t exactly stout, but it was a very encouraging performance.
A couple of other guys may have sealed their fate. Vernon Fox continues to show he isn’t an NFL safety, he’s just too weak to bring down NFL players. He takes poor angles on runs and isn’t that great in coverage either (probably should work on those hands too, shoulda had that pick). One guy who impressed me was Ade Jimoh, he’s not a guy I’d want starting at corner or anything but he’s very physical and competitive out there. Honestly, I look at the guy and think he could cut it as an safety. His performance also makes me wonder why the Skins were screwing around with Mike Rumph early this year. But that’s another point for another day.
The off-season begins tomorrow, so we’ll be here with any news that comes along. I’ll also be doing player report cards over the next little while so check back often. And if you are in the pick’em pool, we’ll have the winner announced soon and will get the jersey out shortly.

I’m just wondering where you start!?!
I’m not all that sold on Jimoh, but I will give the O line some credit. They played very well yesterday. I guess defense is always the place to start and its obvious that Williams is good when he is good, but when he needs to make an adjustment the “do it until it works” attitude doesn’t cut it. He’s out in my mind.
Play calling stinks. Coach Gibbs needs to get back to play calling. We were crushing the giants with Randy Thomas pulling left. The play was never called after the first 3 minutes of the second half.
I’m no GM, and wish Vinny the best of luck in his next job. I do want to find some guys that have fun playing together.
See ya next year..

Jimoh is horrible. Gibbs is too old and conservative. It was a horrible year and even Gibbs says it was his worst. I wish my worst year on a job paid me 5 MILLION DOLLARS.
