Redskins, Jansen agree to Extension
The Redskins announced today that they have signed OT Jon Jansen to a five year contract extension. The deal is worth 23 million and included 10 million in bonuses. Jansen is the longest tenured player on the Redskins, joining the team in 1999.
Jansen is coming off his worst season since turning pro. He was hampered by a calf injury all year long and struggled at times. The extension clears up some cap room for the Skins in preparation for their annual free agent signing bonanza. Personally, I hope they use the space to get Derrick Dockery locked up and ensure the offensive line stays together for a few more years.

It’s a stupid the skins had to make because of the cap. Jansen is getting old and is play is declining. And he still had two years left on his deal. Only the Redskins make deals like this.
