Taylor to Pro Bowl

Sean Taylor is going to Hawaii. Taylor was added to the NFC Pro Bowl roster today after Eagles safety Brian Dawkins pulled out due to personal reasons. This will be Taylor’s 1st Pro Bowl appearance. He will join Chris Samuels in representing the Redskins.

Other Redskins notes:

  • Coy Gibbs has left the Redskins to start a motocross team. Gibbs had been with the team in various roles since his father came back to coach. Correct me if I’m wrong, but wasn’t Coy’s interest in getting into football one of the main reasons Gibbs came back to coach in the NFL?
  • Both Joe Gibbs and Daniel Snyder released statements on the shunning of Art Monk by the Hall of Fame voters. Snyder – “A good man and legitimate Hall of Famer is being denied entry for reasons we never know, by people who secretly vote. Art Monk is a Hall of Famer by any measure. This is not right.” Gibbs – “I’m disappointed that Art wasn’t recognized for election into the Hall of Fame today, but I remain confident that he will be recognized for all the positive contributions he has brought to the game. I can’t think of a more deserving player or person that possesses more Hall of Fame credentials than Art.” I concur.

After a little off-season rest, we will be back in action here now. I will be adding a cool new feature over the next week that I think will come in handy for most fans. They’ll also be some draft profiles of the potential players the Redskins may take as well as some other articles. One thing I am working on is a list of top ten seasons by Redskins running backs which will be a good addition to last year’s top ten seasons by Redskins receivers (Bobby Mitchell’s 1962 season came out on top). So that will be up sometime this off-season. One last note, our pick’em contest winner had his prize delivered last week and I should have a picture shortly.
