New Cool Feature
The quick eyed visitor may have noticed the fancy new search box up at the top and bottom of this page. Its a new search feature I’ve added. Basically its a Google search engine, but it only searches Redskins sites.
For example, if you go to Google and type in Clinton Portis, you’ll get 5 pages with links to ESPN’s Portis page with stats and NFL.com’s Portis page with stats and CBS Sportsline’ Portis page with stats which is fine if that’s what you are looking for. But if you want something that actually tells you anything useful about Portis you have to skip to page 10 to find a useful article. This search engine will skip through all those big stat pages and just bring you what actual Redskins writers and fans are saying.
If you type in Clinton Portis into this search engine, you’ll get an article from Hogs Haven about Portis trade rumors, a link to AOL’s DC Sports Guy blog with an interview with Portis and an article about Portis from the Skins page on scout.com. All in all, I think its pretty useful and its still a Google search engine so it gives relevant results.
To start with I’ve including the following sites:
mvn.com/nfl-redskins/
harryhogfootball.com
thehogs.net
redskins.scout.com
journals.aol.com/dcsportsguy/mrirrelevant/
thewarpath.net
hailredskins.com
hogshaven.com
curlyr.blogspot.com
runningredskins.blogspot.com
theredskinreport.com
Now I’m an idiot, so I probably missed some sites, so please let me know in the comments and I’ll get it added ASAP. So try the sucker out.
One last thing, if you run one of the above sites or really any site and you want to use this search on your site, I’ve posted the code here.

How about these?

http://redskinsblog.blogspot.com/

Also, is there any way to have the search sort by date?
I ran a search on “Marshall” looking for the rumours that Lemar Marshall was on his way out and all I could find was old stuff.

Thank you smyke, I added those, although it looks like Rich Tandler’s blog is now at blog.redskinsgames.
I can’t seem to find how to add by date, but I did add a few menus just below the search box (after you search), so if you just want to search newpapers or blogs or whatever, you can do that.

I agree with Smyke, the search is less useful if it’s not sorted by date. Depending on the player or topic, the list comes out looking like random history.
Personally, I like Ben Maller’s Sports Rumors & Notes on Fox Sports. He always has good stuff on the Redskins and former Redskins players.

It doesn’t look like I can add the date search as of yet. But if the google set-up changes, I’ll add that functionality to it.
