Draft Day – Here we go
So its noon and the draft is about to begin, instead of 9 posts today about the draft, I’ll just keep adding to this one.
- Being in Canada, we miss all the pre-draft fun. Somehow I doubt that ESPN is showing a motorcycle show leading into the NFL draft. But the draft has started now. Good opening by ESPN.
- The panel is Berman, Steve Young, Mel Kiper, Chris Mortensen and KeyShawn Johnson??? Does ESPN have a quota to get an annoying receiver on every panel? They finally get rid of Michael Irvin but add KeyShawn. Ugh.
- 1st pick…. JaMarcus Russell. He’s big and can throw it far from his knees. And now the fun really begins.
- And the Lions go receiver AGAIN. Calvin Johnson. Trade coming? So now we get into the picks that should affect the Redskins. Remember if you are hoping the Skins can move down, you don’t want Brady Quinn to be picked before #6.
- And the Browns go with….. Joe Thomas! Quinn is about to sink. And Thomas is on a boat somewhere. So does Tampa go with Adams now?
- Tampa Bay is taking…. Gaines Adams. I was hoping he’d last until the Redskins pick just to add options, but he seems like a Andre Carter clone. I like the guy in the green room holding the boom mike, I imagine that guy gets annoying pretty darn quick. So Arizona… Levi Brown?
- God I’m good at this. Brown is the pick. And now.. its Redskins time. Okoye or trade!
- Ok, here’s my thoughts. If you can still get Okoye by moving down a few slots, the Skins really don’t need to get a huge offer to move down. Now I know they’ll be blasted for not getting proper value, but adding a 3rd or 4th pick and still getting Okoye works for me. Anyways… 7 minutes or so to go.
- Less against Landry now after that, although the lack of coverage skills screams a bit of Archuleta to me.
- Landry it is. Lets hope this works out. Closer look at Landry coming up
