You Know Its a Slow News Week When…

A few thoughts on the Redskins during the slowest time of the football year:
- I can’t believe the outrage over Clinton Portis’ dog fighting comments. Besides the fact that he was joking around, who really cares what Portis thinks about Michael Vick’s dog fighting festivities. I like Portis but who really takes anything he says seriously. Thank goodness for Roger Goodall to protect us from all the evil in the world and weigh in with his embarrassment.
- The USA Today reports that the Redskins could move Phillip Daniels to tackle. Whew… the d-line problems are fixed. Honestly though, this appears to be a throw-away, unconfirmed comment by the writer based on the fact that Daniels has played tackle in his pre-Redskins days. I don’t think we’ll see this happen.
- The Redskins might move from a Cover 2 to a Cover 1 defense so LaRon Landry can play in the box. Probably a good move, athough wouldn’t this have made sense last year when they spent 9 bazillion dollars on Archuleta.
And that’s it… two weeks of news right there. Le sigh.
