Redskins Pummeled, 1st Team Offense Shines

The record book will show this as a lopsided pre-season loss for the Washington Redskins, but it was just about the perfect game for the players that matter most. Jason Campbell looked calm and cool in the pocket leading the Redskins to an opening drive touchdown. The proof that Campbell is healthy was the most important aspect of a virtually meaningless game.
Campbell finished a perfect 5 for 5 for 54 yards and a beautiful touchdown pass to Antwaan Randle-El. The back-up QB situation became more muddled as Brunell also looked sharp going 5 for 6 and leading a TD drive of his own. The defensive starters all rested except for Kedric Golston who saw a bit of action. Of the scrubs and back-ups, HB Blades looked good again with 8 tackles. David Macklin and Anthony Trucks also put forth decent performances. On offense, Marcus Mason had a good effort with 54 yards. Rock Cartwright also looked good subbing in for Clinton Portis and Ladell Betts (both sat) on the 1st team offense.
As a final note…. Jordan Palmer really really sucks. If he wasn’t related to Carson, he’d have no hope of even making a practice squad.

And with that said….
Are you doing the Redskin Report Challenge again this year via the Pigskin Pick’em?
I promise to play every week, and become the “Bill line”: if you finish higher than me, kudos everyweek.

Oh, and according to the Post, rumor says Brunnell is about to become a Seattle Seahawk.
