I'm a (tiny) bit surprised that Sartz didn't get put on IR; however, his injury history did him in for that, and the Redskins aren't willing to give him a third chance (he was injured two years ago on a near-career ending injury in college; see my original analyis of him, as he could have been (COULD have been) a better pickup than Blades, who is a depth player. I'm a also a bit surprised about the release of Renaldo Wynn; I expected him to still be with the team for another season (I didn't expect him to make it beyond next season, though). As I expected, Ecker and Palmer were wasted picks, though Palmer may still make the practice squad (he's more raw a salad). Also surprising is that not just one but THREE RFAs made the team; I'm not sure if that's a good thing or what; I was anticipating only one of the RFAs to have even a chance, but Heyer and Mason obviously showed the coaches enough; Mason did perform very well in the preseason, and Heyer ended up being the starter when Samuels went down (I believe he's now third string, though). Still, that's very valuable depth, and I wouldn't be surprised if he suits up quite a few games, especially if Sameuls stays nicked up during the season. I'd venture that right now, the RFAs more than make up for a two-pick draft (Landry and Blades).
