Rocky McIntosh lost until 2009?
Looks like Rocky McIntosh’s injury is severe; he’s gone for this season, and won’t be ready (in all liklihood) until the 2009 Season; with Carlos Rogers also being questionable for next season, and of course with the loss of #21, the young heart of our defense is gone. I know this sounds strange (we’re in the playoff hunt for the ‘07 season, after all), but it looks like it won’t be until at least ‘09 before we come back into contender status. Look for the Redskins to pick up the big WR as UFA this offseason; Washington will need the draft picks to rebuild the defense (and pick up a couple more solid OL prospects) for the next two years.

LaRon Landry should be careful. All of the Redskins 1st picks (yes, McIntosh was a 2nd rounder, but the team’s 1st pick) are going down: Rogers, Campbell, McIntosh and obviously Taylor.
Its pretty amazing that the team is still in contention with all the injuries this year. The Redskins depth was terrible in past years, but this year its really holding them in.
HB Blades has impressed me whenever I’ve seen him on the field this year, so I don’t expect a huge drop-off in performance. McIntosh is a good blitzer however, so they will feel the loss in that aspect. I expect the Redskins to be blitzing like crazy against Minnesota, so it could play a factor this week.

So Rocky could miss the entire next season? Possible for Rogers too? Wow! I don’t think in all the years I’ve watched football that I have ever seen such a thing. I was from the thinking that an off season healed everything. Amazing.
