Seahawks Open as Favorites

There was some talk of the Redskins potentially being listed as the favorite in this week’s wild card match up with the Seahawks, but Vegas is having none of it. Seattle is being listed as a favorite pretty much everywhere. I’ve seen the line at 4 and 4.5 points. Seattle is a very tough place to play and they are 7-1 at home this year, so its not really surprising. It will be interesting to see if the line moves as the week progresses as the Redskins late season run will likely be the big story of the week.

Bodog is one of the few sites out there still taking US players, for anyone feeling really good about the Redskins chances. The referral code they set me up with earlier this year is still active for a bonus to your 1st deposit, enter 1955555 when asked.

  • Wow. Just Wow. I can’t see how the Redskins are less than 2 point favorites, and would have put them at 3 1/2-4 1/2 point favorites; the Seahawks have not been impressive AT ALL this season, and have benefited from a very soft schedule; in contrast, the Redskin’s schedule was computed to be the hardest in the league. The Seahawk’s only “impressive” win came in week 1 against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Though they’ve won a few quality games over near-good also rans, they’ve been unimpressive against the better teams (they’re second best victory was a narrow defeat of the Eagles).

They’ve been blown out by quality teams they’ve played.

OTOH, the Redskins have been blown out ONCE, by the Patriots, and have lost every other game in the last two minutes or later in the game. Nope, even in Seattle, I can’t see the Seahawks being favored. In Seattle, I can see the Redskins not being favored by much.

  • The line is dropping. Most sites now have the Seahawks at 3.5 points. Wouldn’t surprise me to see it dip to 3 or 2.5 before game time.
