Well, Gibbs did leave, and I think we should stay in house with the new head coach giving the job to Greg Williams. Sure Cowher would be the big name guy, but we have our core of coaches and players. Lets go win!

* We will restructure alot of contracts this off-season as we typically do to make room for rookies and a FA or 2. Hopefully we will be able to keep Springs although I'm 50/50 on the issue.

* As much as I was looking forward to Taylor/Landry, safety is not a MAJOR concern for us this year.

* I think our 3 most needed positions are in order; #1) DE pass rusher #2) Big body WR #3) young LB

* I say we go after Lance Briggs. If we get him great Rocky may not be around for the 08' season anyway. When Rocky does come back Godfrey, and Fletcher-Baker are getting older anyway so the youth will be great. Briggs and Rocky will be studs for a long time to come. However, if we are unable to get him, then we're stil relatively solid at the position for another year.

* I think we should look at WR's in the draft. Cambell is throwing to guys that are 5'10 190lbs. Even Cooley isn't the tallest tightend. He needs a big target to compliment the speed and big play ability of Moss, versatility of Randle El and consistancy of Cooley. I think Malcolm Kelly, Limus Sweed, and James Hardy are the 3 guys I would watch.

*DE can come by way of draft if the 6'8" 280lb guy from Mia is still on the board, or perhaps another FA will be available. What is the status of Jason Taylor?

No matter who we get this off-season.......nobody will bring the talent that Sean did. He's not the kind of player you can just go replace. He was indeed a "Meast". Personally, I will mention his name to my kids in the same breath my father mentioned Gayle Sayers. The same was I saw Bo Jackson when I was younger. Freaks of nature who's careers got cut short leaving us to utter, "what might have been".

Obviously, Duce over at the Virginian-Pilot seems to see many of the same things; his big difference is that he isn't as sure that Springs will stay.

Good post, and generally agree, with some exceptions. I think the 'skins will go for a young, big possession WR either in draft or FA. At LB, they will continue to build depth, and may even pursue Lance Briggs (per WaPo's LaCanfora at Redskins Insider). And while I completely agree that DL will get work, especially at pass rushing DE, I do not think they will go out of their way to find a stud safety early in the draft or in FA. They picked Landry because they couldn't trade down last year, and he was by far the best pick to make at that spot in terms of overall talent.

Thanks!
