Hall of Fame Voting - Feb 2, 2008

As the Redskins coaching search drags on in secrecy, we at The Redskin Report turn our attention to something even more frustrating for Washington Redskins fans - the Pro Football Hall of Fame. Despite winning three Super Bowls in Joe Gibbs’ first tenure, the Redskins have exactly one player (John Riggins) represented in the Hall of Fame from that period. So in an effort to right this great injustice, over the next two weeks, we will present the case for the three Redskin players among the finalists for this year’s Hall of Fame vote. Here’s our schedule:

Wednesday (tomorrow) - Reposting of the 4 part case for Art Monk originally published in 2006
Friday Jan 25th - Art Monk vs Cris Carter (I’m curious to see how this comes out)
Monday Jan 28th - The Case for Russ Grimm
Wednesday Jan 30th - The Case for Darrell Green (I promise this article will contain more than just ‘duh’)

Its a good time to subscribe to The Redskin Report. The site is updated in the off-season, but not on a set schedule. By subscribing, you can get all the posts delivered to your RSS reader or your email in-box whenever they are published without having to visit the site. Obviously there is no cost, and there is no shady use of your email or any other info. The emails are clean and not filled with advertising - see example here. • Oh come now Lee, Darrell truly is a “Duh!” kind of post; it’s MORE than a no-brainer, it’s a Brainectomy for someone to not vote him in; he’s widely acknowledged to be the greatest Cornerback of All Time.

And if that doesn’t work, just link to the clip of the Rookie, number 28, running down Tony Dorsett on Monday Night Football…. I remember that day, and thinking “Oh my! Looks like we’ve got a barnburner in the guy!”
