Coaches, Coaches and More Coaches

A few news tidbits as the Redskins fill out the few remaining slots of their coaching staff

  • Tennessee Titans assistant coach – offense (guess the Redskins aren’t the only team with wacky titles) is either on route or in Washington right now to interview for the offensive coordinator slot. He is a good friend and former teammate of Zorn’s and he is the heavy favorite to land the job right now.
  • The Redskins have received permission to interview Stump Mitchell (quality name) for either the running back coach position or potentially as offensive coordinator. Mitchell is currently the running back coach with Seattle. Apparently the Redskins pulled their offer to Earnest Byner to return as RB coach earlier this week.
  • Washington has also hired Chris Meidt as an offensive assistant coach. Meidt resigned as head coach at St. Olaf’s College to accept the job. St. Olaf’s is allegedly a powerhouse in division III college football.

Just think how exciting this off-season will be when we can actually sign players instead of just coaches.
