According to semi-reliable ProFootballTalk Anquan Boldin may be on the move now that the Cardinals have ponied up some big cash to sign Larry Fitzgerald:
According to Adam Schefter of NFL Network, Anquan Boldin could want more money and/or a trade in the wake of Fitzgerald’s $10 million-per-year contract.
Per Schefter, some in the Cardinals organization actually regard Boldin as the better wideout. But Boldin will make far, far less than Fitzgerald over the next three seasons — he’s due to earn base salaries of $2.5 million, $2.75 million, $3 million.
That is a very low salary for a receiver of Boldin’s calibar, so he would likely fetch a 1st round pick for the Cardinals. Boldin is an extremely physical player and has missed time due to injuries in 3 of his past 4 seasons. However, when healthy Boldin is an elite receiver averaging over 82 catches per season.
If Boldin does become available expect many teams to be interesting, including our NFC East rivals in Dallas and Philadelphia.
