There is still very little happening in the world of the Washington Redskins this off-season, but here’s a few blurbs that haven’t been mentioned here yet:
-
I can’t find any links, but John Clayton has reported on ESPN that Clinton Portis has reported to OTA’s 15lbs lighter than last year’s playing weight. Portis hopes to increase his elusiveness as well as reduce his risk to injury by being lighter. I’m all for a quicker Portis, but I hope his body can hold up to the pounding he takes over a year if he’s slimmed down too much. Stump Mitchell sees Portis having 1,800 yards next year.
-
The trial of the 4 men accused of murder in the Sean Taylor case has been delayed until August 25th. The case was orginally scheduled to go to trial on April 7th.
-
Lorenzo Alexander is returning to his ‘jack of all trades’ role next year. It was expected that Alexander was going to be a full time offensive lineman this year, but after reviewing tape Jim Zorn and the coaching staff have decided that Alexander is more valuable as a utilityman type of player.
-
We are now 28 days away from the NFL draft or 4 weeks until something interesting happens for us Redskins fans.
-
The hairiest player on the Redskins, Jason Fabini has resigned with the team. He will be a back-up at both the tackle and guard spots again in 2008 (and hopefully has zero starts).
Until next week…. Go Davidson.
