Good choice in Horace Gant im sure he will be a starter soon. He is a hard worker.

Michelle - can you share anything on Gant? Being from a small school, its hard to find much on him. I know one of our new coaches was the head coach at St. Olaf’s before joining Zorn’s staff.

Lee, I know that Horace Gant holds alot of records at St. Olaf and was the first player from the school to get selected to play in the Aztec all Americas Game. I mean for a Div III kid he has made his mark. I just want to see what he does in the Big League.

I am glad that the Redskins made a move on Kevin Mitchell as a free agent. This kid has a lot of talent and is a very intellegent player who led or was in the top three in various catagories in the the Big Ten conference. In addition, Kevin is a very good tackler who led a terrible Illinois team (several yrs ago) in tackles with 80…14th overall in the Big Ten Conf. Last year, Kevin’s crushing blows earned him a reputation as one of the hardest hitting safeties in the Big Ten Conf. and a trip to the Rose Bowl.

Interesting that the Redskins did not draft
any local college players or pick up any
undrafted ones………..Henderson of Maryland
and Dixon of Hampton are two who come to
mind plus no Virginia Tech players.

I am thrilled that NFL teams are picking more respectable players that they can be proud of both on and off the field. That is what they are getting in Horace Gant. Great choice.
