Pigskin Pick’em Week 9 results
Well, it’s the Redskins Bye week, after the Redskins lost on Monday Night Football, at “Home” to the Steelers… but what a pathetic home field advantage that was. Perhaps it’s time for Dan Snyder to make sure that a few games don’t “Sell Out” in the D.C. area to get the Redskins fans back in the bleachers and off Stub Hub. It wouldn’t take much… simply “find” that a few thousand tickets going to some of the ticket agency groups don’t get sold until after the Blackout deadline. Whatever is required, though, it looks like the Redskins have effectively no home field advantage anymore, and this is just the culmination of a trend that has been coming for years under Snyder. Now we have a couple weeks to digest how different that game could have been if Zorn had stuck with the run early, or Rogers had caught a few of the Ints he dropped, or if we had Punt Protected better and not gotten that block. It’s a long two weeks of belly gazing, but it’s just one game, against one of the best teams in the league, and we’re still sitting in the #1 Wildcard spot in the NFC East. In two weeks, we’ll have to defend that spot.
At any rate, it’s time to give out the Kudos and Props for our Pigskin Pick’em players. Big props this week go to chris horton hears a who, a player who has been sniffing most of the season near the top, and Tidewater Picks (someone from my hometown area, obviously!) with 12 this week. That’s just outstanding, and it helped both move up in the rankings. Close behind, with 11 pick week, to A. Fishman’s Picks (last years overall season winner) and BRAGGIN-RIGHTS, who leapfrogged me with his great week. Props to them for their great week!
Upset Pick of the Week is, as always, my choice in what I consider the biggest upset. There were a few good choices… Miami over Denver, Pittsburgh over Washington (though that’s not THAT big of an upset), Cincy over Jacksonville, and the Jets over the Bills are all “worthy” of being upsets, but Cincy over Jacksonville gets my nod. Tidewater Picks and Fletchskins correctly predicted Cincy’s win, and get the Kudos for this week’s Upset Pick of the Week.
Last, but of course not least, is the Season Props. This week, we’re back Highlander style, with chris horton hears a who leading the pack with 79 points. Following up on his heals, El Gaupo has fallen to second, with 78, while 3rd place is shared between A. Fishman’s Picks, Hot Stuff Coming Through, and 22209 with 77; that’s what a good week will do for you, and two of the leaders catapaulted up in the rankings due to excellent weeks compared to the others. However, 21 of the players are still within an easily recoverable 10 games of the lead, so it’s any players season to win. Props to our Season Leaders, and as always, get in it to win it!
